Spring 2026 – Oakland Flag Football Season

Sundays • March 22 – May 18, 2026

Location: Oakland High School — New Turf Field (MacArthur Blvd & Park Blvd)

East Bay Flag Football returns to Oakland this spring with a full season of NFL FLAG-style action, community traditions, and family-friendly programming. Whether your athlete is brand new or a returning player, Spring 2026 delivers a safe, structured, and exciting experience for all ages.

Season Dates:

Opening Day: Sunday, March 22, 2026

Regular Season: March 22 – May 18

Playoffs & Championships: Late May

Special Event: Memorial Day Matchup Tournament – Sunday, May 24

Field:

Oakland High School – New Turf Stadium

Easy access, on-site parking, and a modern surface designed for fast, safe play.

Registration Dates

Dec 1, 2025 – Jan 1, 2026: Early Bird Registration ($25 off)

Jan 1 – Feb 15: Regular Registration

Feb 16 – Season Start: Late Registration =$25 (if space allows)

Scholarships:

Financial assistance is available through NFL FLAG Funds. Applications may be submitted HERE via the RCX Foundation. Every child is welcome on the field.

Divisions & Age Groups:

Divisions are based on age as of January 1, 2026.

8U Division – Ages 7–8
10U Division – Ages 9–10
12U Division – Ages 11–12
15U Division – Ages 13–15

All divisions are coed. Girls are strongly encouraged to participate, and all teams follow the NFL FLAG non-contact format.

We will make All-Girls teams based on registration numbers

Season Format:

Each Sunday includes:

Team Practice: One Hour

Game: One Hour

Schedules will be assigned by division and released before Week 1.

Cost:

Boys Program: $200
Girls Program: $100

Includes NFL FLAG jersey, shorts, flags, certified officials, field time, and league operations.

Volunteer Requirement & Buyout Options

Each family is asked to complete two hours of volunteer service during the season.

Common roles include:

Concessions table
Field setup & cleanup
Publicity (posting flyers at local schools or submitting info to school newsletters)

Families may opt out of volunteering by selecting one of the following during registration:

$50 Volunteer Buyout

$100 Volunteer Buyout (Supporter Level) — for families who wish to contribute more generously to EBFF’s nonprofit mission.

Coaches Needed

We welcome parents, guardians, and community members to volunteer as coaches.

All coaches must register and attend a mandatory Zoom training session (or watch the recorded version).

Teams with dedicated coaches enjoy better communication, stronger development, and a closer community bond

Parent, Coach & Referee Info Sessions

We will host live Zoom meetings in February 2026 to walk through rules, gameplay, schedules, equipment, and what to expect on opening day.

We’re excited to bring another season of high-quality, community-powered flag football to Oakland.

Spring 2026 is shaping up to be one of our best seasons yet — we can’t wait to see your athletes on the field at Oakland High School.
